Sun Pillar

These are some really cool pictures Greg took at Farmington Bay. It's called a Sun Pillar.

Dictionary explanation: A sun pillar is a vertical shaft of light extending upward or downward from the sun. Typically seen during sunrise or sunset, sun pillars form when sunlight reflects off the surfaces of falling ice crystals associated with thin, high-level clouds.
It only lasts for a minute or so. I can't believe Greg actually had a camera!
